Deputy Minister of Health detained in Kazakhstan

Employees of the Economic Investigation Service detained Deputy Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Olzhas Abishev, the press service of the financial monitoring committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic reported on August 2. The official was detained on suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds. At the moment, investigative actions are being carried out. From 2015 to 2018, Abishev held senior positions in the Republican Center for Electronic Health at the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan. The detainee was appointed to his post in 2018. According to the news agency, earlier the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan identified 650 pharmacies that sold medicines at inflated prices.
